Message 1st: Did the cop ask you where you were coming from or going to?

Reason for asking: I had too many points and couldn't afford insurance so my parents put my car as a third car for them. But, I was the only one driving it, which is pretty much illegal. If I were to ever get in an accident or anything, I could never say that I was going to work or school. I had to say I borrowed my mom's car to visit a friend or that I was going to the store. If I were to say that I was taking it to work or school, it pretty much shows that I was driving it daily which is a no no. If you ever borrow someone's car, in order to not screw them, always say you were borrowing it for anything other than school or work.

2nd: Do you live with your mom?

Reason: I don't know about Canada, but in the US, premiums go up for having drivers live under the same roof. And if you can't prove that each person has their own car and insurance, it goes up more. My sister and her husband moved back home for a bit. This was during the time that I didn't have my own insurance. There premium went up a couple hundred because of me. The insurance company sees it as, he has no car or insurance, so he is most likely borrowing cars, and could quite possibly borrow their car. So, they are gonna make them pay more because there is a greater chance of me borrowing there car since I don't have one of my own.

If this is also true in Canada, you were basically covered when borrowing your mom's car because she is paying higher premiums for you living there.

I'm a sell out!
